Deli are probably a less known type of Ottoman light cavalry, but for sure they are a very beautiful topic to paint, and a challenge. If you look a bit, will find some amazing illustrations about the fierce aspect of these warriors, and TAG did a pretty good work depicting them. Specially some of the… Continue reading 28mm – The ASSault Group – Ottoman Deli

28mm – The Assault Group – SIpahi with Swords
This is the first group of Sipahi by The Assault Group i’ve painted, another two, one of them “of The Porte”, are still waiting to be finished. Figures are pretty good as all the range by the brand. I like the big shields, although maybe i didn’t get best of them with the easy chess-board… Continue reading 28mm – The Assault Group – SIpahi with Swords
28mm – Tercios Miniatures By El Kraken Released – Ottoman Artillery
Lights and shadows.. those are my thought about the full Ottoman range by this brand, Tercios Miniatures by El Kraken released, and these thoughts doesn’t apply to the Spanish Tercios range, which is a brilliant one, but they also apply to the Polish Lithuanian range. Below we have some pictures from an Ottoman gun, with… Continue reading 28mm – Tercios Miniatures By El Kraken Released – Ottoman Artillery
28mm – Tercios Miniatures by El Kraken Released – Ottoman Sipahi.
Ottoman Empire XVI-XVII My last entry in a few.. more things from Tercios Miniatures. Honestly i don’t know what to think about this guys.. there are good and bad things.. the worst to me, some design problems on the riders.. horses are quite fine, and problems to fit the 2 valves of the dromedary.. As… Continue reading 28mm – Tercios Miniatures by El Kraken Released – Ottoman Sipahi.
28mm – Tercios Miniatures by EL Kraken Released – MIscellaneous things.
Ottoman Empire XVI-XVII It’s the first time i face this brand, who has some interesting (and growing) renaissance ranges. This batch includes a big siege gun, Suleiman the Magnificent and Roxolana (Suleiman design is clearly inspired in a famous picture, just search Suleiman on Google images and you will see), and cart with gods for… Continue reading 28mm – Tercios Miniatures by EL Kraken Released – MIscellaneous things.
28MM – THE ASSAULT GROUP – Akinjis with BOWS
Ottoman Empire XVI-XVII See our previous Akinjis post to learn something about them. Bows were their main weapon, skirmishing enemy lines before the battles , shooting backwards after face enemy lines. The Assault Group does a nice bunch of these dudes, the command is shared with the swords armed guys, and archers come in three… Continue reading 28MM – THE ASSAULT GROUP – Akinjis with BOWS
28MM – THE ASSAULT GROUP – Akinjis with swords
Ottoman Empire XVI-XVII Akinjis (or Akincis) were one of the common irregular light cavalry used by the Ottoman Empire during centuries. The usually were used as vanguard, and border units, not paid and subsisting on plunder. Usually they used guerrilla tactics to demoralize enemies before match the battles and they played an important role in… Continue reading 28MM – THE ASSAULT GROUP – Akinjis with swords
28mm – The Assault Group – Mounted Cossacks
Mounted Cossacks Ottoman Empire XVI-XVII It’s the second time i paint these nice dudes by The Assault Group. I tried to keep color palette in sync with the recent cossacks on foot i published few months ago. There are a mix of lances and fire arms, lances are three different poses (x2) while the rest… Continue reading 28mm – The Assault Group – Mounted Cossacks
28mm The Assault Group – Cossack on foot
Cossack on foot Ottoman Empire XVI-XVII It’s the second time i paint these dudes, as they also were part of the Polish-Lithuanian army i painted some years ago. This time i tried to keep a lower color profile and i think they turned out better, although the fucking varnish almost ruined the finish at the… Continue reading 28mm The Assault Group – Cossack on foot
28mm The Assault Group – Dismounted Tatars
Dismounted Tatars Ottoman Empire XVI-XVII I already painted some mounted Tatars years ago, so i happily completed the round with the dismounted version. It’s a pity that all the horses poses are the same, as well as had to base them on individual bases, avoiding them to really look as a dismounted unit.
